El turismo comunitario ciertamente es una forma en que los territorios pueden prosperar a través de los diversos recursos que lo componen, proponiendo un crecimiento social a la comunidad que se involucre con la actividad turística y como bien se sabe, produciendo beneficios económicos a la población receptora. El objetivo de esta investigación es determinar la viabilidad de la implementación del turismo comunitario en el municipio de Páez Boyacá. Con este fin la pregunta de investigación es la siguiente: ¿Cuál es la viabilidad de implementar el turismo comunitario en el municipio de Páez Boyacá? En este contexto, se establecerá principalmente si el municipio en cuestión atiende las condiciones básicas para incorporar una actividad tan profunda como la del turismo. La pregunta de investigación se responde a través de la caracterización inicial del municipio, también se proponen los elementos que podrían llegar a hacer parte del turismo comunitario de Páez y por último, se ejecutaron encuestas y entrevistas con el fin de conocer la posición y la noción que tiene la comunidad con respecto al turismo.

Community tourism is certainly a way in which the territories can prosper through the various resources that compose it, proposing social growth to the community that is involved with the tourist activity and as is well known, producing economic benefits for the host population. The objective of this research is to determine the viability of the implementation of community tourism in the municipality of Paéz Boyacá. To this end, the research question is the following: What is the feasibility of implementing community tourism in the municipality of Paéz Boyacá? In this context, it will be established mainly if the municipality in question meets the basic conditions to incorporate an activity as profound as tourism. The research question is answered through the initial characterization of the municipality, the elements that could become part of the community tourism of Paéz are also proposed and finally, surveys and interviews were carried out in order to know the position and the notion that the community has regarding tourism.
