El desarrollo actual de la sociedad la ha llevado a un punto donde el consumismo desmedido ya está empezando a tener repercusiones de gran calibre sobre el medio ambiente, un claro ejemplo de esto es el uso desmedido de plásticos PET ha desencadenado una ola de contaminación a nivel mundial tanto en ríos como en océanos que ya empieza a tener implicaciones en la salud humana y de los demás seres vivos, por tal razón la empresa ECOMADERAS SAS desarrolla el producto ECOFORMALETAS, un producto cuya materia prima principal es precisamente el plástico de los envases de material PET cuyo procesamiento industrial lo convierte junto con otros aditivos convierten los plásticos en un material altamente eficiente y resistente para cumplir con las funciones que cumpliría cualquier otra formaleta de los mismos materiales con la gran diferencia de que esta tendrá el atributo de ser usada mas veces, y tener un origen sostenible contribuyendo a la mitigación de este gran daño medioambiental.
