El turismo de aventura se convirtió en unas de las tipologías con mayor demanda en el mundo, sin embargo, la práctica inadecuada de alguna de estas actividades ha provocado que algunos países no puedan aprovechar las ventajas en esta tendencia. Por lo anterior, esta investigación identificó las causas del riesgo en las actividades del turismo de aventura en Colombia, adaptando una metodología cualitativa de tipo descriptivo, asimismo se llevó a cabo la realización de entrevistas semiestructuradas a actores esenciales del sector. Se encontró que los departamentos de Santander, Magdalena, Valle y Antioquia son los principales territorios donde ocurren siniestros en esta tipología, igualmente se identificó que las actividades con mayor índice de accidentes son el parapente, cabalgata y senderismo. A pesar de que existe una amplia normativa en el segmento de aventura, se siguen presentando deficiencias en la gestión del riesgo del turismo poniendo en peligro la integridad del usuario

Adventure tourism became one of the typologies with the highest demand in the world, however the inadequate practice of some of these activities have caused irreparable accidents in the physical integrity of tourists. Therefore, this research identified the causes of risk in adventure tourism activities in Colombia, adapting a qualitative methodology of a descriptive type. Semistructured interviews were also conducted with key players in the sector. It was found that the departments of Santander, Magdalena, Valle and Antioquia are the main territories where accidents occur in this typology, simultaneously it was identified that the activities with the highest accident rate are paragliding, horseback riding and trekking. Despite the fact that there are extensive regulations in the adventure segment, which since 2015 is mandatory, deficiencies continue to occur in the tourist operation, putting the integrity of the user at risk
