Esta investigación tiene como propósito conocer los factores que han impedido que la caficultura sea un agente dinamizador en el turismo de los cuatro municipios de la Provincia del Tequendama. Los municipios seleccionados fueron Viotá, Tena, Cachipay y San Antonio del Tequendama. La metodología usada fue cualitativa, de tipo exploratorio-descriptivo, con técnicas de recolección como: análisis documental, entrevista individual a profundidad y entrevista individual en tiempo real a través de internet. Estas permitieron identificar por medio de los resultados la perspectiva de los actores sociales frente a su historia cafetera, la situación actual de la caficultura, la actividad turística e iniciativas que se han generado en torno a este. Además de las problemáticas, tales como: cambio del uso del suelo, cambio generacional, pérdida de patrimonio, entre otras.

The purpose of this research is to know the factors that have prevented the coffee culture from being a dynamic agent in tourism of four municipalities of Tequendama’s Province. The selected municipalities were Viotá, Tena, Cachipay and San Antonio del Tequendama. The methodology used was qualitative, exploratory-descriptive, with collection techniques such as: documentary analysis, in-depth individual interview and individual interview in real time via the Internet. These allowed to identify through the results the perspective of the social actors’ respect to its coffee history, the current situation of the coffee culture, the tourist activity and initiatives that have been generated around it. In addition to the problematics, such as: change in land use, generational change, loss of heritage, among others.
