La estacionalidad turística es un fenómeno que se concibe como un elemento mayormente negativo que trae consecuencias a los destinos en materia social, económica, ambiental, etc. Sin embargo, muchas de estas consecuencias se dan por factores externos a la actividad turística o simplemente tienen otra naturaleza que son atribuidas a este fenómeno desconociendo su verdadero origen, causa y efecto. Esta investigación se realizó con el fin de aportar a la teoría del turismo por medio del estudio del comportamiento de variables estacionales en la Quebrada Las Delicias, mediante la propuesta metodológica para el análisis del comportamiento de variables ‘naturales’ e ‘institucionales’ planteadas por Richard Butler, Tom Baum y Svend Lundtorp, así como de variables exploratorias como propuesta para comprender e incluir elementos que se presentan en el fenómeno y que no se han tenido en cuenta aún para su estudio. Esta investigación es de tipo exploratoria, teórica y de metodología por etapas que funcionó como un paso a paso para investigar, además es acompañada por una ruta de análisis que ayuda a comprender de una manera rápida y fácil la matriz de análisis de variables que permitió identificar y analizar sus comportamientos

Seasonal tourism is a phenomenon that is conceived as a mostly negative element that brings consequences to destinations in social, economic, environmental, etc. matters. However, many of these consequences are caused by factors external to the tourism activity or simply have another nature that are attributed to this phenomenon, ignoring its true origin, cause and effect. This research was carried out with the purpose of contributing to the theory of tourism through the study of the behavior of seasonal variables in the Quebrada Las Delicias, through the methodological proposal for the analysis of the behavior of 'natural' and 'institutional' variables proposed by Richard Butler, Tom Baum and Svend Lundtorp, as well as exploratory variables as a proposal to understand and include elements that are present in the phenomenon and that have not yet been taken into account for its study. This research is of an exploratory, theoretical and step-by-step methodology that functioned as a step-by-step approach to research and is accompanied by an analysis path that helps to understand in a quick and easy way the variables analysis matrix that allowed to identify and analyze their behaviors
