El ser humano desde sus orígenes ha mantenido la necesidad de registrar las actividades que desempeña y los acontecimientos que ha vivido durante el transcurso de su existencia, no obstante, es en la fotografía, las imágenes en movimiento y la evidencia sonora, es decir, en el patrimonio documental y audiovisual en donde verdaderamente se plasma y verifica la realidad; por lo anterior, el propósito de esta investigación fue determinar la importancia y contribución del patrimonio audiovisual y documental en el desarrollo del turismo cultural, a partir de una indagación y aplicación práctica conducentes a recuperar la memoria audiovisual y documental de la Casa de Antioquia con miras a potencializar su interés turístico. La metodología empleada se basó en la ejecución de un estudio de caso, característico de la rama cualitativa de la investigación, llevado a cabo mediante el desarrollo de cuatro fases clave en la embajada representante del departamento de Antioquia en Bogotá; respecto a la obtención de datos, se realizó una exhaustiva revisión documental y la aplicación del instrumento del grupo de enfoque con la participación del personal de la Casa de Antioquia. Los resultados alcanzados, además de los productos generados, demostraron que el patrimonio audiovisual y documental conservan la identidad de las sociedades, erigiéndose como forjadores de memoria colectiva, que de aprovecharse en el ámbito del turismo serían herramientas que permitan generar experiencias turísticas únicas, inmersivas y dotadas de conocimiento.

Human beings, since their origins, have maintained the need to record the activities they carry out and the events they have experienced during the course of their existence, nevertheless, it is in photography, moving images and sound evidence, that is, in the documentary and audiovisual heritage where reality is truly captured and verified; for the above reasons, the purpose of this research was to determine the importance and contribution of audiovisual and documentary heritage in the development of cultural tourism, based on an inquiry and practical application aimed at recovering the audiovisual and documentary memory of the Casa de Antioquia with a view to enhancing its tourist interest. The methodology used was based on the execution of a case study, characteristic of the qualitative branch of research, carried out through the development of four key phases in the representative embassy the 6 department of Antioquia in Bogotá; regarding data collection, an exhaustive documentary review and the application of the focus group instrument were carried out with the participation of the staff of the Casa de Antioquia. The results achieved, in addition to the products generated, demonstrated that audiovisual and documentary heritage preserve the identity of societies, establishing themselves as forgers of collective memory, which if leveraged in the field of tourism, would be tools that allow the generation of unique, immersive, and knowledgerich tourist experiences.
