La presente investigación, buscó describir la vocación del Humedal Juan Amarillo-Tibabuyes para implementar la actividad ecoturística como aporte a su conservación. Esta partió de evidenciar la importancia que tienen estos cuerpos de agua en la ciudad y de que hoy en día se tiene mayor interés en el ecoturismo. Este trabajo se realizó bajo una metodología descriptiva. Para ello, en primer lugar, se aplicaron diferentes instrumentos de recolección de información identificando los aspectos con los que cuenta el humedal, para posteriormente convertirse en un atractivo ecoturístico; En segundo lugar, se conocen las prácticas, la gestión y el interés por el ecoturismo como agente de conservación de las organizaciones directamente involucradas. Además, se presentó una matriz de clasificación que permitió identificar y analizar trabajos de nivel internacional en Humedales y áreas naturales protegidas donde el turismo de naturaleza y/o ecoturismo contribuyó en su conservación.

The present research sought to describe the vocation of the Juan Amarillo-Tibabuyes Wetland to implement ecotourism activity as a contribution to its conservation. This started from showing the importance of these bodies of water in the city and that nowadays there is a greater interest in ecotourism. This work was carried out under a descriptive methodology. To do this, in the first place, different information gathering instruments were applied identifying the aspects that the wetland has, to later become an ecotourism attraction; Second, the practices, management and interest in ecotourism as a conservation agent of the organizations directly involved are known. In addition, a classification matrix was presented that allowed the identification and analysis of international level works in Wetlands and protected natural areas where nature tourism and / or ecotourism contributed to their conservation.
