This research analyzed the re-signification and territorialization experiences of the Bronx
Creative District (BDC), formerly known as "La L." The purpose was to highlight how this
once-stigmatized territory was transformed into a space of memory, art, and social
cohesion. A qualitative methodology based on the comprehensive-interpretative paradigm
was applied, using techniques such as semi-structured interviews, life stories, participant
observation, and field notes, with 13 participants who experienced "La L" before and after
its intervention.
The findings emphasized how the community and the Esquina Redonda team have
redefined the territory's meaning by integrating traditional knowledge and cultural
dynamics to promote inclusion and creativity. The BDC now symbolizes a space of second
chances, fostering collective memory and becoming a model of social resilience and
adaptation.
